When I catch a cold, it really only affects me at night. During the daytime, I’m fine! I can go for a run, workout, etc…. I’m good. No coughing, sneezing, nothing, maybe a little congestion. At night it’s a completely different story. Hacking cough, sneezing, watery eyes – the whole. 9. yards. The worse part is poor Dr. B. My coughing keeps him up all night. So, he has to start his week off sleepy and tired at work 😦
Before I went to bed last night, I drank the bottle of Nyquil. Then three hours later I was back up hacking. So, I drank more Nyquil, took some Delsym, Alka-Seltzer cold, and sucked on a cough drop. That combo of drugs allowed me a few more hours of sleep. Needless to say I’m very, very drowsy right now. Last year, the doctor gave me steroids to stop the coughing. I thought that was a little extreme. I’m out of ideas…Anybody have any suggestions?
After winning this on Ebay yesterday!
Yes, yes, yes. I know I live in Florida. But I’ve been lusting for a mink coat ever since when we went skiing in salt Lake City in February.
Dr. B just looked at me and said, “I hope you like it.” LOL!
Apparently there is a new trend for men, male nail polish. There are several brands that now make nail polish exclusively for men. One such brand is ManGlaze, have you seen it? It boasts at being the “manliest nail polish known to man.” I saw the trend pop up a few weeks back during NY fashion week. I actually didn’t pay much attention to it. I mean for what? Dr. B certainly isn’t interested, why should I be.
That is until last Friday when I went to the grocery store to purchase few alcoholic beverages for our trip to Jacksonville. The clerk’s nails were painted blue and white! I guess it doesn’t take long for trends to trickle down to the masses. Have you seen any men sporting nail polish?
In other nail news… for those like me who sport natural nails, but find it difficult to keep a manicure longer than three days, Couture Gel Nail Polish kit to the rescue. Couture’s Gel nail kit includes:
- Your choice of 3 Couture Gel Nail Polish colors
- Plus base coat and top coat
- A professional 36-watt UV Espree Salon Lamp
- Instructional DVD
- Zippered carrying case for easy storage
- And a bonus salon nail care kit!
The best part is the price. It’s only $129, which if you do the math, is much cheaper that paying $35 for gel nail application at a salon. This kit is definitely on my list!
Couture also sells the gel nail polish in sets of 3 for $45 (you chose your colors), additionally they sell the bulbs for the UV lamp for $25.
I can see myself getting tons of use out of this kit. I love the look of short natural nails in pretty colors, and couture has some really nice shades to choose from and they update the colors every season. How often do you go to the salon for a manicure, would you use this kit instead?
I woke up this morning not wanting to get out of bed. It took everything in me not to go back to sleep. Not good, considering I went to bed around 10:00 and had almost 9 hours of sleep. To me that was a telltale sign of what my day could end up being like if I did not shake myself out of this rut. What better way to head off laziness than to go for a run? But, not my average 3-4 mile run, but a 6 miles! With anticipation of going on a long run, I felt more energized and I put on my running gear and laced up my Adidas.
Once I was out on the road, it felt great. I took a new route and ran through neighborhood that I haven’t run through before. The change of scenery was nice, coupled with the crisp morning weather made for a fantastic run.
How do you jump-start your day when your feeling sluggish?
I’ve been scouring Ebay for certain items that fit into my shopping priorities. Anyway, Sunday morning I bid on two vintage dresses. A Lily Rubin silk dress and Bilba Indian Boho dress. In all honestly, I forgot that I had bid on those items until I received the “you won” email from Ebay. Apparently I was the only bidder, I’m praying that’s not an indicator of the dresses I purchased. Fortunately for me and my wallet, both dresses totaled $43.95 which included shipping.
Moral of the story, add an item to your Ebay wish list before actually bidding on it. 🙂 Never the less, they are cute! I’ll have to take them to my seamstress and have them altered. I think I’ll shorten them a bit, so that I can wear them layered during the Winter and with sandals during the warmer months. What was the last Ebay auction you bid in?
